WrestleWeek - Your Weekly Round-Up For All Things WWE! Edition 1 (4th Feb. onwards)

Welcome to the debut edition of WrestleWeek. Your weekly round up of the events in the WWE.
We are on the Road to WrestleMania, and it is evident that WWE are stepping things up, WWE has became really entertaining, and things are just getting even more exciting as we move forth on the Road to WrestleMania. From major announcements regarding Elimination Chamber, to a Talk Show set destroyed and more, it's time for WrestleWeek...

Monday Night Raw - 4th February 2013
The show began with CM Punk addressing the WWE Universe, the Straight-Edge Savior was angry about the evidence that was presented by Mr McMahon the week prior. He immediately defended himself, along with Paul Heyman. During his rant, he was interrupted by Booker T, General Manager of SmackDown, who announced that CM Punk would have a match tonight, against one of his three previous WrestleMania opponents. Booker T set up a WWE Active match, where the WWE Universe could vote via the WWE App for CM Punk's opponent, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton or Chris Jericho.

They have had numerous run-ins in the recent history, but following several matches Ryback finally kept Antonio Cesaro from escaping and defeated the United States Champion. Ryback and Antonio Cesaro had a pulsating back and forth contest, and Cesaro even tried to flee the match, but Ryback was to stop this and eventually defeat Cesaro.

After making a shocking return last week on SmackDown, Jack Swagger competed in his first match on Raw since September 2, against Santino Marella, the man who took his US title around one year ago. Jack Swagger made a quick example of Marella with his devestating submission, the Patriot Act (formerly named the Ankle Lock).

World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio channeled his fury towards Cody Rhodes, following Big Show's provocative acts and attack on his friend Ricardo Rodriguez. Del Rio performed exceptionally well against Cody Rhodes, and made him tap out via the Cross-Arm Breaker, maybe giving a preview of things to come at the Elimination Chamber.

Daniel Bryan earned a spot in the SmackDown Elimination Chamber match with a win over Rey Mysterio, the the two high-flyers had some great action in the ring, but after Mysterio missed a move from the top rope, Daniel Bryan capitalized and made Mysterio tap out to the NO Lock. Just seconds into his celebration, out comes....
MARK HENRY!
Mark Henry returned and threw Daniel Bryan out the way before launching an attack on Rey Mysterio, he body slammed the Master of the 619, before getting ready to jump on Mysterio, however, Rey got up and attempted to fight off Mark Henry, but it wasn't enough. Even Mysterio's companion, Sin Cara couldn't help, and ran straight into the World's Strongest Slam. Mark Henry then jumped onto Rey from the second rope, leaving Mysterio badly damaged. What an emphatic return for the World's Strongest Man.

Two behemoths were to collide next on Raw, the Celtic Warrior Sheamus, and the Big Red Machine, Kane. It was a great battle between the two, including a significant moment when Kane managed to block Sheamus' Chest Punches! The match came to an end when Daniel Bryan (who has had a lot of friction with Kane recently) distracted Kane and he ran straight into a Brogue Kick, and the Celtic Warrior got the win over Kane.

'The Most Must-See Talkshow in WWE', Miz TV was up next, and The Miz was going to ask Paul Heyman the things everyone wanted to know, did Heyman know off Lesnar's return? Paul Heyman denied this, and then the General Supervisor of Raw, Vickie Guerrero claimed she was the one who had rehired Brock Lesnar. As The Miz pursued a verbal attack upon Guerrero and Heyman, he was interrupted by the Beast that is Brock Lesnar. The Miz tried to make a stand against Lesnar, and even slapped Brock, but eventually Brock took control and finished it with a devastating F5. And with the destructive force of Lesnar now back in the WWE, this attack could be one of many to come...

Randy Orton def. Wade Barrett

The WWE Active match was the final match of the night, with a WrestleMania 28 rematch, as CM Punk squared off with Chris Jericho. We witnessed some pulsating action, and it really was an entertaining match to watch, and this showed that both men had a claim to call themselves 'Best in the World'. With numerous opportunities for both Punk and Jericho to win, but it was a final GTS that put Jericho to sleep, and Punk had his hand raised after a well-contested match.

And closing off the show, John Cena was to call out The Shield, who attacked him, Sheamus and Ryback the week prior. But first, it was Brad Maddox who seemed to call out The Shield, and eventually when Cena came, he didn't come alone. This time he came with Sheamus and Ryback, entering through the crowd. They surrounded the Shield in the ring, and made a statement. As The Shield fled, Cena issued a challenge, at the Elimination Chamber, for the Shield to take on Ryback, Sheamus and John Cena!

WWE Main Event - 6th February 2013

The featured match of this week's edition was Sheamus vs. Cody Rhodes. Cody Rhodes first ranted at the WWE Universe, before Sheamus came out and defeated him after a back-and forth match, which was to be one of three matches on the night. Daniel Bryan ten took on Damien Sandow, of who he and Kane have had several run-ins with in the past. Daniel Bryan was firmly in control until Kane interrupted, distracting Bryan so Sandow would operate the Terminus Neckbreaker, and secure a win! And finally, there was Divas Tag Action, as Naomi and Cameron defeated Tamina and Aksana, of whom asked Clay if they could be his dancers earlier that night. There was some good midweek entertainment on Main Event, with three matches, but none were exceptional.

Friday Night SmackDown! - 8th February 2013
SmackDown is also on a roll, and they debuted a new intro theme, which sets up a great Friday night feel. The show kicked off with The Big Show on a rant, after he was attacked by Del Rio in a hotel, vBig Show was cautious when getting out his bus, but made it to the ring to proceed with his rant. He questioned the WWE Universe in attendance, asking them why he thinks he's a bad person etc. Big Show seemed to have been getting soft, as he compromised (or at least tried to) with the WWE Universe. Big Show even claimed that Booker T was jealous of him, and this was followed by Booker T interrupting, the general manager made his way to the ring. Booker T then announced that Big Show will be in a match later that night, the Big Red Monster, Kane! Big Show was instantly gobsmacked, and was irate after the decision, and we had a colossal match coming up!

The explosive Kofi Kingston was in action up next, as he faced Cody Rhodes, who came off a loss to Sheamus on Main Event. Kofi Kingston had Rhodes all over the place with high flying offence, but when he caught Kofi with a kick on the apron, and dragged Kofi back in before following up with the CrossRhodes for the win. Rhodes made a bold statement about Elimination Chamber.

The Punjabi Giant, The Great Khali was in the ring with Titus O'Neil for some singles competition. Khali dominated O'Neil in the beginning, but O'Neil was able to ground the 7 Foot Giant for a while, until O'Neil walked into a head chop by Khali, and Khali picked up the victory. Khali's celebrations were instantly pulled to a stop, with Mark Henry (who returned on Raw) made his way to the ring. He made quick work of Titus O'Neil before entering the ring, and the two behemoths fought at it until Mark Henry took control and manhandled Khali with a shocking World's Strongest Slam to Khali, incredible destruction. Mark Henry has sent shockwaves throughout the WWE with his return, and destruction will only continue...

Mark Henry took to the microphone, and called out Booker T to let him in the Chamber match, Booker T said he would be in the match, if he beats Randy Orton tonight! What a match on the cards!

It was time for Big Show vs. Kane.  Two behemoths were to collide on SmackDown! There was a huge stalemate, and it went back and forth, collision after collision, until Kane hurt his knee from a top rope move, and went straight into a Knockout Punch, Big Show reigned supreme after a well-fought battle. As Big Show left the ring, Del Rio came up on the titantron claiming he had made "changes" to Big Show's bus, and as Big Show arrived, it appeared that Del Rio had taken the wheels off! Big Show was so frustrated, near to tears, and as he leant near his bus, Del Rio poured orange paint all over him. The angry giant, just got angrier, as he cried in disbelief. Del Rio had got another one up on the World's Largest Athlete.

Jack Swagger was further looking to impress Booker T and get in the Chamber match when he was in action with Justin Gabriel. Swagger was dominant over Gabriel, as Booker T observed and considered putting Swagger in the Chamber match. Gabriel had a flurry of offense, but Swagger countered a mid rope move to damage the leg of Gabriel, before finishing it with the Swagger Bomb and Patriot Act to get a dominant win and prove he is worthy of the Elimination Chamber.

3MB entered the ring as Drew McIntyre faced off with Tensai. During the match the 3MB took on Tensai, but Brodus Clay came to the safety of Tensai and they cleared out the 3MB. Two huge men, Brodus Clay and Tensai stood in unity. And then... the dancing. Tensai once again got funky with Brodus Clay, bizarre!

Antonio Cesaro def. Sin Cara

It was now time for the main event. Mark Henry had the opportunity to get in the Elimination Chamber match, as he faced off with The Viper, Randy Orton. Orton started ruthless in the match, but Mark Henry's sheer power seemed to dictate Orton's ability. There was an opening in the match, but Mark Henry was able to counter the RKO, and it all came to an end when Henry clobbered Orton in the turnbuckle, before a thunderous World's Strongest Slam, that put Randy Orton away for the three count. Mark Henry made a huge statement on SmackDown, truly sending shockwaves through the WWE, and he is now in the Elimination Chamber, things are going to get bigger.

And that's your weekly round-up! Mark Henry dictates most of the spotlight this week, with an emphatic and shocking return to the WWE. Meanwhile, Del Rio and Big Show's feud took a more comical turn in some ways, and more matches were added to the Elimination Chamber card. Main Event this week was quite mediocre, but Raw was awesome, and numerous segments of SmackDown were, too. Overall, quite an enjoyable week, and we are now nearer to WrestleMania 29, and as the Road to WrestleMania continues, we are in for some entertainment.
