Embedded image permalinkThe SuperBowl, the most watched sporting event of the year, came LIVE from New Orleans, and we were in for one heck of a show. It was to be the fitting culmination of a great season in the National Football League.

With the coaches of the teams both brothers, and Ray Lewis' final game, this was sure to be a special night. Before the game we had stunning performances by renowned acts Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys, setting the tone for a great SuperBowl. These acts however were not the only ones to perform at the Bowl, as Beyonce took to the halftime show.

SUPERBOWL FUN FACTS

Baltimore Ravens' Flacco threw three TD passes, tying an all time record, a superb performance by the starting Quarterback.

Commercials are always of course, a tradition in the SuperBowl, from The Rock featuring in a "Got Milk" commercial, to Gangnam Style Sensation PSY doing a pistachio advert, and of course a hilarious Oreo advert, these commercials at the Bowl were hilarious, always a great tradition of the SuperBowl.  FFFF

Going into halftime, the Baltimore Ravens were cruising, leading 21 - 6. They had a great first and second quarter, and went in on a positive note, and many were calling that it would be over. The World were then treated to an excellent halftime show.

Embedded image permalinkDuring half time, Beyonce took to the stage at the Pepsi Halftime show, which featured the return of Destiny's Child too. It was a fantastic performance and some quality entertainment, the World were watching, as Beyonce quickly dominated the Worldwide trends on Twitter. The World was amazed by the great performance and were ready for the second half...

The second half kicked off with a bang, with Jacoby Jones receiving the ball and running it from one end zone to the other, an exceptional 109 yard run touchdown, the conversion was successful too, putting Baltimore 28 - 6 over San Fransisco.

Embedded image permalinkThen as play resumed, the electricity in the stadium went out! Most lights on the ground stopped, there was no sound and the whole World were wondering what on Earth happened! It took around half an hour for the problem to be resolved, and frustration was building in for players and coaches. Many thought this was to the advantage of the 49ers, but both were to lose some momentum, and they had to stay active during the break. Things got explosive when play resumed, as finally the fans could watch the SuperBowl again...

Embedded image permalinkSan Fransisco got to the endzone for the first time halfway through the third quarter with a good TD pass, but some lack luster defending by Baltimore and poor tackling. Good balance by Crabtree to get to the endzone, and it put following the conversion put a 15 point margin between the teams with one and a half quarters of regulation time remaining.

San Fransisco had the opportunity to gain further ground on the margin, with Flacco getting sacked on third down, and they went on to get the touchdown. Following the conversion, only 8 points were between Baltimore and San Fransisco, things were to get dramatic. This game was intense.

The power cut seemed to have drained the momentum and focus of the Baltimore Ravens, as they played sloppy and turned the ball over yet again, surely the would not throw it away?

When San Fransisco hit a field goal, they put themselves within 5 points, and as the third quarter drew to a close, NFL fans were expectant of something very special.

The Ravens extended their lead to 31 - 23 following a good 19-yard field goal by Justin Tucker, they edged closer to the Championship...

Embedded image permalinkA touchdown run by QB Kaepernick bought the 49ers within 2 with a quick run from the agile quarter back, but they missed the conversion, and another opportunity opened up for Baltimore again.

Baltimore got 5 points ahead at 34 - 29, following a 5 and a half minute drive with a field goal to finish it off. It was now crunch time for the 49ers, would they deliver? The Championship was on the line.... The SuperBowl has came down to the last 5 minutes. TENSE.

With TWO MINUTES left of regulation, Baltimore lead by 5 points, and 49ers were dangerously close, under 10 yards to the end zone, Baltimore would have to defend well, because a TD for San Fransisco would put them in the lead with over 1 minute left.

Some great defence forced two incompletes by 49ers, and Baltimore got the ball back. It was a pivotal turnover for the Ravens and the 49ers hopes were down. Baltimore were trying to drive it upfield, with just a minute remaining.

Tense decisions were being made with just 4 seconds left, as Baltimore prepared to kick it away with 4 seconds remaining in the last play of the game. As it was kicked to the 49ers, they ran up the field, but went down, and the pitch was invaded by the Baltimore team as they celebrated their triumph.
