WWE Royal Rumble 2013 - Results, Coverage, Opinion and more!

Royal Rumble 2013 came LIVE from the United Center in Phoenix, Arizona, as the Road to WrestleMania kicked off in an emphatic way. This year, not only would the WWE Universe be treated to the epitome of excitement, the Royal Rumble match, but also the return of The Rock to battle CM Punk for the WWE Championship! It was truly a great night, delivering many amazing moments, what a night.

Alberto Del Rio retains his World Heavyweight Championship after defeating The Big Show in a Last Man Standing match
Alberto Del Rio really proved that he deserves to be World Heavyweight Champion as he
retained his title at the Royal Rumble. He has now defeated The Big Show twice in Last Man
Standing match, having a legitimate claim to the Championship. The opening of the match saw The Big Show dominate Alberto Del Rio, but Del Rio had several big moments in the match of where he got the Big Show down. A big spot during the contest was when The Big Show sent Alberto crashing through a table, and Del Rio got up on the ninth second, before persevering on to win the match. Alberto is a good Champion, but I don't see him taking the title through to WrestleMania, I expect it to change hands at the Elimination Chamber. Big Show may pursue in another rivalry now, or continue and compete in the Elimination Chamber in three weeks. Overall, it was a good contest to kick off the show, but slightly repetitive at times.

Team Hell No retain their WWE Tag Team Championships after defeating long-time rivals Rhodes Scholars  Many in the WWE Universe thought that this contest would put an end to Team Hell No's title reign, but at the Royal Rumble they defeated Rhodes Scholars, proving that they can coexist as a team. It capped off a great week for Team Hell No, following graduation of anger management. I think we have seen this matchup too many times, I don't know what is next for Rhodes Scholars, if they continue to pursue the titles they must at least win it once, Team Hell No could be fizzling out soon. Team Hell No continue to roll on as Tag Team Champions...

John Cena wins the Royal Rumble match, securing a spot in the main event of WrestleMania 29The Royal Rumble match always delivers many unpredictable moments, and this year in the Rumble match there were many favorites going in to the contest, but it was John Cena who prevailed emphatically, and is going to WrestleMania 29. The Rumble match kicked off with Entrant #1 Dolph Ziggler, and his opponent, was someone which made the crowd go crazy! Chris Jericho returned as Entrant #2 in the Royal Rumble match, to wrestle the man who took him out the WWE to kick things off in the Rumble. These two superstars lasted the longest throughout the match, reaching the last six, and having at least 40 minutes during the match. Santino Marella was first to be eliminated in the match, entering at #5 and being eliminated by Rhodes, Kingston, Jericho and Ziggler collectively. Goldust surprised his brother Cody Rhodes when he entered at #8, but on in the match Cody was to eliminate Goldust. Another big entrant was Sheamus at #11, who lasted until the final three but was unable to win the Rumble for the second consecutive time. Rey Mysterio returned from injury at entrant #14, but also was unable to win the Rumble for the second time. NXT prospect Bo Dallas entered the Royal Rumble at #16, and did well until he eliminated Barrett, as Barrett pulled Bo Dallas off the apron causing elimination. The crowd went wild, as the Godfather, famous for his time in WWE during the Attitude Era entered the match, he came in and was immediately eliminated by Dolph Ziggler. John Cena entered at #19, and made a huge impact from the outset with several eliminations. Team Hell No struggled to coexist, meanwhile many people were teaming up to eliminate Tensai, Clay and Khali. At #26 came the Viper, Randy Orton, who looked to seek career redemption, and almost did. Sin Cara returned also, but picked on the wrong person when #30, Ryback entered. Sin Cara attempted to kick Ryback, but to no avail, and was thrown out the Rumble. The final six were Jericho, Ziggler, Orton, Sheamus, Ryback and Cena. Jericho was eliminated by Ziggler, before Sheamus delivered a Brogue Kick to Ziggler which took him off the apron. We were down to 4, Orton, Sheamus, Ryback and Cena, arguably the favorites of the match. Randy Orton went on an RKO frenzy delivering RKOs to Sheamus and Cena, but when he attempted to do it to Ryback, he was eliminated. Sheamus and Cena tried to team up on Ryback, they did until got focused on each other, Ryback eliminated Sheamus, and we were down to two. Ryback and Cena squared off, and after a back and forth battle (including an STF by Cena which put Ryback out cold) Cena prevailed by throwing Ryback over the top rope. Cena embraced his victory in the crowd at the United Center, and had done what he set out to do, win the Rumble and headline WrestleMania. I don't think this Rumble was as exciting as previous Rumble matches, Jericho was a great return, but I would have liked to see some more entrants that were not wasted and pointless. Quite entertaining, but still very predictable. I think Cena will go on to face The Rock at WrestleMania 29 and win, again very predictable. Many fans don't like the fact that Cena won and was like "Super Cena" and maybe that could be true. Also, I could sense a Ryback/Orton feud following their battles in the match. John Cena is going to WrestleMania 29, after winning the Rumble, but this was to be just a part, of an epic night....

The Rock becomes the new WWE Champion after an epic encounter with CM Punk which could have ended differently
It was a match for the ages, the Best in the World vs. The Great One, for the most coveted prize in sports entertainment, the WWE Championship. Anticipation going into this match had been high,  with it all starting back from Raw 1000 when The Rock announced that he will compete at the Royal Rumble. It was destined to be an epic match, and prior to the match, The Rock spoke to the WWE Universe talking about never giving up, and how his mother never gave up and beat cancer, it was an inspirational story, that added the awe-inspiring touch to this match. There was a big fight feel in the United Center, and it seemed like The Rock's lack of in-ring competition favoured CM Punk. However, The Rock did take control as the match went back and forth, and The Rock could have had it all done when he was about to Rockbottom CM Punk through the announcers' table, but it collapsed. Following a great match, The Rock was set to win, as he was going to put down the Most Electrifying Move in All of Entertainment, The People's Elbow on CM Punk. The lights in the arena went off just as he did, and we could not see anything, but only hear some destruction taking place, and Michael Cole screaming "IT'S THE SHIELD!" When the lights went back on, The Rock was on crashed through the table, and CM Punk smiled, possibly hinting his alliance with The Shield. CM Punk put The Rock back into the ring and pinned him 1.. 2... 3... and we all thought CM Punk had retained his Championship. But just a minute into his celebration, out came the boss, Vince McMahon, and he pointed out that if The Shield interfered in this match, CM Punk would be stripped of the title. McMahon was about to do it before The Rock stopped  him saying "You won't take it from him, I will." and The Rock asked for the match to restart. A nervous looking Vince restarted the match, and CM Punk took advantage of an already badly beaten superstar. He completed several signature moves before setting up for the GTS. The Rock reverse and set up for an ELECTRIFYING People's Elbow, he then went on to pin Punk, and win the WWE Championship! It was a surreal moment to see The Rock as WWE Champion, and as  a fan of The Rock I was so excited for this match and I can't believe he is Champion! It was an ending to CM Punk's 434 day reign as Champion, and much respect to CM Punk, for holding the title for that long, and his name will be in the record books. It was a great way to kick off the Road to WrestleMania, with a new WWE Champion, an epic night, and I can now say, we are on the Road to WrestleMania! The Rock is the WWE Champion!http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/ep_large/public/ep/image/2013/01/20130127_LIGHT_RR_rock_L.jpg

What a way to kick off the Road to WrestleMania, an epic and memorable night that sets up the foundation for WrestleMania 29. The Rock is the new WWE Champion, Cena won the Royal Rumble, epic moments, what a night. The Royal Rumble really did deliver, and as we move forward to WrestleMania, what challenges will The Rock face?

WWE Royal Rumble 2013 - Preview, Predictions and more!

This Sunday, Royal Rumble comes LIVE from Phoenix, Arizona in the US Airways Center. It's shaping up to be one epic night, and an incredible way to begin the Road to WrestleMania. Along with the exciting and unpredictable Royal Rumble match, the event will feature the return of The Rock in competition to challenge CM Punk for the WWE Championship, an encounter that will be one for the ages. Not to forget, Alberto Del Rio defends his World Heavyweight Championship against The Big Show in a Last Man Standing match, and more!

This will truly be an unpredictable night, it's an event of which I have been genuinely excited for, and this is one of the first PPVs in many months which I believe will be epic. It's going to be an amazing night, I cannot wait to see what happens...

Antonio Cesaro defends his United States Championship against The Miz in the Royal Rumble Pre-ShowThe rivalry between The Miz and Antonio Cesaro has quickly escalated. From trash talking, to conflict in the ring on Miz TV, these two superstars have been at each others throats for weeks. Just half an hour before the Royal Rumble PPV, The Miz will have an opportunity to capture the United States Championship for the third time, as he challenges Antonio Cesaro, of who has held the belt since SummerSlam. It's been Cesaro's constant bashing of American people that has got The Miz wound up, and even got Antonio Cesaro on the receiving end of a Figure-Four Leglock, but will Cesaro gain the bragging rights when this match is said and done? Or will The Miz capture the title for the third time and shut up Cesaro? Find out in the Royal Rumble pre-show! Catch the pre-show LIVE streaming on YouTube, Facebook and WWE.com half an hour before the PPV.

WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No defend their titles against long-time-rivals Team Rhodes ScholarsTeam Hell No and Rhodes Scholars' intense rivalry goes through the Royal Rumble this Sunday, when the Tag Team titles are on the line. Rhodes Scholars have been constantly contending for the titles, defeating numerous competition to get their shots. Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes seem to think that their intellect is enough to outwit Team Hell No, who have been struggling to coexist. However, Team Hell No graduated from Anger Management this week, and despite some arguments, they look to be functioning well, so not a good sign for Rhodes Scholars. Will Rhodes Scolars finally capture the tag titles? Or will Team Hell No's reign continue? Find out this Sunday at the Royal Rumble!

Royal Rumble match. 30 men, eliminate opponents by throwing them over the top rope, and the winner headlines WrestleMania! It's one of most famous match types in sports entertainment, the Royal Rumble. 30 superstars, elimination via throwing over the top rope, with a grand prize, headlining the Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania. The incredible unpredictability of the Rumble match makes it all the more exciting, as we wonder, who will make it to WrestleMania? John Cena, Randy Orton and Sheamus significantly announced their participation in the Rumble match, and these superstars look to get career redemption at the Rumble match. They have the experience, as they have all won Rumble matches in previous occasions. But could we see a different winner? Maybe Ryback, a man who has sent wreckage through the locker room, and definitely poses a threat. After all, there are 30 men in that ring capable of winning, and the only way to find out is to watch what will be an incredible Rumble match this Sunday. This Monday on Raw, we saw a preview of things to come, as the ring flooded with superstars looking to contend in the Rumble. I am unbelivably excited for the Rumble match, it just gets the adrenaline going, and you don't know who is going to win! What a way to begin the Road to WrestleMania! Predicting a winner for the Rumble is always difficult, so I will predict for two winners, either John Cena or Ryback. Who do you think you will win? Contact me on Twitter, and voice your opinion! I truly cannot wait for the match, as we count down the seconds till each superstar enters, expect the unexpected, everyone.

Alberto Del Rio makes his first title defence, as he defends his World Heavyweight Championship against The Big Show in a Last Man Standing MatchAlberto Del Rio captured the World Heavyweight Championship a few weeks ago on SmackDown when he defeated The Big Show in a Last Man Standing match in Miami. Alberto Del Rio managed to get The Big Show down and out for 10 seconds that time, but this Sunday, he will have to do it all again as he defends his new title against The Big Show in the same stipulation. The rivalry between Big Show and Del Rio all began at the expense of Ricardo Rodriguez in late December, and ever since then, Del Rio and The Big Show have went at each other from the outset. Del Rio has got the World's Largest Athlete frustrated many a time, and also embarrassed him in his Fiesta. Big Show wants some deep revenge come the Royal Rumble, and Del Rio's provocative actions may have him on the receiving end of a gruelling WMD Knockout at the Royal Rumble. Big Show made a huge statement on SmackDown just two days before the Rumble, with an attack to Del Rio along with throwing the announce table on Del Rio, just like how Del Rio defeated The Big Show. This is set to be yet another entertaining match, as each superstar may utilize any weapons to put their opponent down and out for 10 seconds. Will Del Rio be successful in his first title defense? Or will The Big Show get revenge and recapture the title? Find out at the Royal Rumble LIVE from Phoenix, Arizona!

The Best in the World vs. The Great One, CM Punk has held the WWE Championship for 434 days and will defend it against The Rock at the Royal RumbleFor 434 days, CM Punk has been WWE Champion proving that he is the Best in the World, and this Sunday at the Rumble, The Rock stands in his way from extending that reign. CM Punk is the longest reigning WWE Champion of the past 25 years, and that is an incredible accolade. The Rock has returned, and he has a dream to recapture the title for one more time. This truly will be a match for the ages, two amazing wrestlers, two influential superstars, all the elements to make a classic. This is the very best way to begin The Road to WrestleMania, with an epic match for the Championship. It all began on the monumental 1000th Episode of Monday Night Raw, when The Rock returned to announce that he will challenge the WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble. Later that night, CM Punk was to attack The Rock and deliver an ice-cold GTS, that stunned the WWE Universe, and put The Rock to sleep. On the January 7, 2013 edition of Monday Night Raw, The Rock returned, sending a bold statement to CM Punk, before delivering an emphatic Rockbottom. The war of words was to continue on SmackDown, with The Rock making his first appearance on the blue brand in 10 years, CM Punk also mocked The Rock from the SunLife Stadium, which was also home to WrestleMania 28. Then it was the next, week on the 20th Anniversary of Raw, where after a hilarious Rock Concert, The Rock called out CM Punk, and a huge brawl ensued. Things intensified further, and even more when The Shield was attacked by The Rock on Raw, further raising suspicions of CM Punk's partnership with The Shield. Mr McMahon made a huge stipulation to the Rumble match, and that is if the Shield interfere, CM Punk will be stripped of the title. It looks like we are going to see a one-on-one war with these two, it should be a classic. Before one last final confronation on SmackDown, The Rock once again sent a statement to CM Punk, before leaving the ring and perfectly setting the stage for the Rumble. This is one of the best feuds in a very long time, and the match will deliver, rest assured. Excitement is sky high for this match, and I truly can't wait for it to happen. The Rock could become WWE Champion, which will be great to see. CM Punk though could further state what a superstar he is. Will The Rock finally capture the WWE Championship? Or will CM Punk's reign surpass 434 days? Find out at the Royal Rumble, and WWE Universe, do not miss this, it is going to be absolutely epic!

Royal Rumble comes LIVE from the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday January 27 on PPV at 8pm E.T. (1am GMT)! The Road to WrestleMania is just mere moments upon us, and what a way it will be kicked off with, with an epic night. The unpredictable Royal Rumble will set excitement sky high, and The Rock vs. CM Punk will be epic, amongst other matches too! Words cannot comprehend the sheer excitement going into the epic night that will be the Royal Rumble! Do not miss it, this will be a night to remember!

Apple, Inc. - Is it only a matter of time before time runs out?

Apple technologies are some of the most popular and innovating pieces of technology on the planet. The marketing skills of the company have developed technology for many years, and as they continue to gross, one can only wonder, is it only a matter of time until their demise?

With Apple selling well in both the tablet and phone markets, is it ever possible that they could run out of ideas? Apple's technology is great, but could we soon be opening the door for Android? Android have also caught fire, developing great technologies, and having a variety of tablets and phones that run Android. Android and Apple both target the user-friendly approach, but it seems like Android's innovation could catapult them above Apple.

The opinion of consumers is very varied, some think that Apple is better, because of it's simplicity, yet ability to do such great things. The branding of Apple also seems to be a great sellpoint, as it is well known, and many assume that Apple is always good, is this the case?

However, Android systems can be more practical. And many choose Android because the technology is much smoother, and it also depends on what layout you prefer. Apple's products are known to have glitches, and it is frustrating sometimes for Apple products owners when their technology freezes. Apple's high expense is to justify how good their technology is, but personally I think it is just taking advantage of brand popularity.

As Apple and Android continue to battle at the top of the market, something has got to give. And while Android continues to gain momentum, could they catapult themselves into a firm frontrunner ahead of Apple? It's all about innovation, but who will be more innovative? We will have to wait and see.

Barclays Premier League Matchday - Post coverage, stats, and review

We are deep into the season now, and this weekend's matches included Arsenal vs. Manchester City, Manchester United vs. Liverpool, and a weekend of football that had more cards than goals. There were many dramatic events, especially on the Super Sunday.

Saturday's Action
http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/65243000/jpg/_65243459_redknapp_avb_pa.jpg
The first featured game kicked off the matchday. As Queens Park Rangers played host to Tottenham. Going into this match, there was a lot of speculation on the managers situation, as Harry Redknapp hosted his former club. In all, the game ended 0 - 0, with 20 shots at goal and two bookings. It was not exactly an exciting match.

Reading and West Bromwich Albion had quite a close game, ending Reading 3 - 2 West Brom. They were much more efficient with their shots, as the total shots in the match were 18, with 13 on target. Reading had 100% of their shots on target and were very efficient in that respect. West Brom were leading 2 - 0, but Reading went full throttle and scored 3 goals from the 82nd minute to the 90th. A great game, and superb comeback from Reading.

Chelsea cruised to a 4 - 0 victory against Stoke City. The scoring began in stoppage time of the first half with Walters' Own goal. This own goal was to be one of two own goals. Lampard scored a penalty, and continues to silence critics. Eden Hazard scored Chelsea's 4th goal in the 73rd minute.

Super Sunday: Sunday's Action
It really was a Super Sunday. Two dramatic games, Manchester United vs. Liverpool and Arsenal vs. Manchester City. We were to see 13 cards (2 reds, 11 yellow) given out in this match. And 5 goals scored.Manchester United v Liverpool: live
Manchester United managed to do the league double over rivals Liverpool FC. Robin van Persie opened the scoring with a well worked goal in the 19th minute. 9 minutes into the second half, Manchester United doubled their lead with Nemanja Vidic's goal. Liverpool were quick to respond, with Sturridge scoring on his Premier League debut for Liverpool in the 57th minute. Frustration took it's toll on Liverpool FC in  the second half receiving 5 bookings. Glen Johnson came close to a sending off, and many fans thought he deserved a red. Liverpool did however show signs of improvement and developing competition. It was promising for Liverpool, but also disappointment that they could not even savage a point from the game. Meanwhile, Manchester United got 10 points clear in the table, and Manchester City were to respond in Part 2 of Super Sunday...

Manchester City defeated Arsenal with a 2 - 0 victory. Manchester City scored their first two goals at the Emirates in the Premier League since April 2007, and they continue to try and apply pressure to United at the top. There was a significant event just 10 minutes into the game, as Laurent Koscielny fouled Eden Dzeko receiving a red card. I in fact made light of the foul and made several perspective images of it in another article. Dzeko missed the penalty, but the missing man was to take it's toll on Arsenal, as James Milner scored the first in the box where he had plenty of space. Dzeko got redemption for his missed penalty by scoring a goal 11 minutes after. Arsenal picked up two bookings in the match and surprisingly, Manchester City received three bookings towards the end of the match, which is hard to understand why they would need to make risky tackles when they had a secure lead. Vincent Kompany was sent off in the 75th minute, and Mancini may have been frustrated because it was unnecessary for the captain to have got sent off in that situation. Quite a dramatic game, which got the Arsenal fans frustrated and annoyed at times. It was exciting to watch from the neutral perspective for sure.

Interesting Stats
  • There were more bookings than goals in the matchday.
  • There were 30 cards given out in the 10 games played, two of them were red cards, and occured in the same game (Arsenal vs. Manchester City).
  • 20 goals were scored.
  • Manchester City received the most cards with 5 in one game.
  •  236 shots were taken at goal in the 10 games.
  • Reading were the only team to have 100% shots on target.
  • Out of the 236 shots taken, 124 shots were on target.
  • 38% of shots taken at goal were on target.
Results
Aston Villa 0 - 1 Southampton
Everton 0 - 0 Swansea
Fulham 1 - 1 Newcastle
Norwich 0 - 0 Newcastle
Reading 3 - 2 West Brom
Stoke 0 - 4 Chelsea
Sunderland 3 - 0 West Ham
QPR 0 - 0 Tottenham
Manchester United 2 - 1 Liverpool
Arsenal 0 - 2 Manchester City

Conclusion
This matchday in the Barclays Premier League was not full of goals, more cards and sanctions. There were some dramatic moments, and many will take the headlines in the morning. The two Super Sunday games were very enjoyable to watch, and there were a few moments which left me baffled. Overall, cards did dominate the goals, there was some sloppy moments, but it was some tense action too, and moving on to the next weekend, there are some interesting games too. The top of the table finishes with Manchester United 7 points clear of Manchester City, who are 7 points clear of third place Chelsea. Things still look bad for QPR, and the drop zone is beginning to take shape, as the point margins from outside the drop zone increase. As we continue to approach 'crunch time' in the season, everything is beginning to get more important, which can only mean good for the football fan...
